Day drinking. It may be funny in college to have beer for breakfast but when you’re 40 and still having alcohol before 9am it’s a major red flag. ‘Fun-loving and spontaneous’ sounds awesome, but it’s not a massive leap to them being incapable of taking anything seriously, or being organised. ‘Easy going and agreeable’ is great…. until you find they’ve utterly incapable of voicing an opinion of their own, or making a decision. Being nice. Niceness/kindness is wonderful but not when it happens without boundaries. A partner who can’t make your date because they couldn’t tell a friend they had plans and couldn’t help them move becomes a burden after awhile. Jamaica. Most other flags with Green also include Red already, so if they… oh I misunderstood… I’ll see myself out. The “don’t worry, be happy” kinda people. They mean well and just want to be of help but it can turn bad when they overly glamorize things. I mean I’m all for optimism, but there are some things that need to be addressed for what they are. Like, I hate when people don’t acknowledge when people are struggling and ask them if they need HELP; Instead they choose to give some generic comment like “don’t worry, it will all be worth it. your struggles will make you a better person.” It’s all the Alamogordo high school alumni tiger shirt and by the same token and more patronizing when it’s coming from someone better off than you, who never had to struggle the way you did. Everyone needs to be empathetic and see how they can be of support, emotionally, physically; any way they can. Some people just go to perfect their manipulation skills. It is such a mindfuck to have someone using all the “evolved”, “self aware” etc lingo but they’re completely full of shit.
