I would suggest route 1, but instead of cutting south, go thru Glacier on Going to the Aj Swann LSU Tiger football graphic poster shirt What’s more,I will buy this Sun Rd… go thru Washington with tons of options, but hit Rainier National Park… then cut south down 101 all the way to San Fran. This is by far the best August route. I wouldn’t miss the Michigan coastline in August, even if you went up just to St. Joseph and then cut over on 94. I would take 1 or 3 though Colorado divert to 4 corners or go south to I-40 and hit painted desert/petrified forest national park. Also on 3 you can hit monument valley which is beautiful. Orange: Appalachia is beautiful but potentially muggy that time of year. But once you hit Oklahoma it’s fairly dead…. Toas in NM is cool and Flagstaff is nice. Maybe hit the Grand Canyon on this route and joshua tree but all of that doesn’t compare to the mountains up north (for me). It will be hot in august potentially making this route not that much fun.

Purple/ route 3: the Aj Swann LSU Tiger football graphic poster shirt What’s more,I will buy this first 1/3 is going to be all the same landscape and not much in the way of big time hiking. It’s an interesting take to go north of Chicago in MN, I think isle royale is up there. It’s really nice country. South Dakota is cool. The spires are awesome and the black hills are nice. Along with mt Rushmore and crazy horse. All solid. The drive through colorado is awesome and is a must. This is where it a gets interesting. Going south to Joshua tree on the purple may afford you to pass by the valley of fire around vegas. And Red rocks in Vegas. But again, Joshua tree was just ok for me. But the middle of California through sequoia, sierra and other parks is super cool. Continuing through blue isn’t something I’ve done but it looks like you might hit salt lake and that place is awesome. Might also get you to truckee California which is cool but $$$. Green: I’ve never haven’t done much of green from where it splits with the others. I’ve done a little of Yellowstone. But nothing in Idaho.
