According to the Aidan Hutchinson American football defensive end Detroit Grunge T-Shirt In addition,I will do this report published by US State Department, only 14-15 countries each year are considered ” Non compliant”. These countries include Guatemala, Honduras, Peru, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, etc. Korea was on the list 2 years in a row. I don’t know if the two fathers I knew of in the past were forced to return the abducted children to Korea. Perhaps they eventually did. But it shocked me that my fellow Americans could behave this way, and it made me look at the unique difficulties attached to a failing international marriage. I now read that the Korean police have no legal authority to take the child even after Korean courts have ruled in favor of a Hague convention claim. That being the case it seems that the Korean government needs to actually provide an enforcement mechanism that works. Otherwise they are merely signed up to the Hague in name, but not in reality.

As a nation of immigrants the Aidan Hutchinson American football defensive end Detroit Grunge T-Shirt In addition,I will do this US has a longer history dealing with these issues whereas international marriages were looked down upon and much less common in Korea until very recently. So Korean law needs to catch up. Related to your view that America doesn’t return children , you need to consider the fact that Hague convention was ratified between the US and Korea about 10 years ago. Before that each country had to make their own decision, and often ignored the other countries, custody decision. That’s the whole point of hague convention. now with this treaty signed you have to return the children unless there is an absolute reason not to do so. the major benefits of Hague convention is that it prevents one parent from being involved in what we call “jurisdiction shopping”. It also tends to give advantage to the parent who is more respectful to the legal system, which often means a better parent.
