I applied for one of this opportunities and luckily was denied. I mostly just applied to learn more and if it seemed like a good deal then maybe it would be worth a career change. And that’s tough to be with so much competition It’s unfortunate that so many of us saw this coming from the start. Amazon wants full control of everything so when they started going with 3rd parties for delivery I was suspicious right away. So they blow up their on distribution contractors, who is going to replace them? Everyday, massive amount of stuff needs to be delivered. Amazon keeps trying to get my family’s shop to fix their vans and we’ve refused at my insistence. I threatened to quit if we took on any Amazon contract because I assume they’ll find a way to screw us eventually No idea why you are being down voted. Amazon has a very clear pricing structure for contracted services. A simple business plan would show how hard it is to turn a profit, and if they were unable to hire contracted service they would have to change it. But they don’t have that trouble so they keep it. The only way to make this deal profitable is to hit all the performance targets and hitting the performance targets seems near impossible unless you’re running at 100% efficiency. Me thinking to myself five minutes before reading this article, “I wonder how much more us little people can tolerate being taken advantage of by massive corporations before we actually do something about it.” This is really crazy for me to read. I had their team hounding me hard to open the first delivery service in my area before they had routes here. They made huge promises and I almost considered investing and starting a route, but the numbers hardly added up and my gut told me no and I followed it. I’ve dealt with Amazon far too much to know how they treat their partners/sellers/etc and how they’ll use you as a building block and then hang you out to dry.
