And these countries that have officially declared it a cult are not all weird religious nutter countries; it includes Germany I’d suggest listening to episode 243 of ‘this is actually happening’ and see if these are the Adam Wainwright St Louis Cardinals Fanatics Branded 200th Career Win T-shirt Furthermore, I will do this type of people you wish to be around. That is false. “Public” scientologists can be in any relationships they want, so long as the persons have not been declared Supressive Persons This was the point I was trying to make (and I was probably not clear). They can forbid relationships by declaring someone a suppressive person, and this has torn families apart. Last Podcast On The Left has done two Scientology specials. The first that traces the beginning and the 2nd the state over the last 40 years recently. You should absolutely look into them. I have as little time for scientology as the Adam Wainwright St Louis Cardinals Fanatics Branded 200th Career Win T-shirt Furthermore, I will do this next person, but the amount of English speakers that throw around the word “cult” as if everyone knows what that means is staggering. Seriously its just become some meaningless mic drop buzzword. Try this, next time your hear someone irl say “cult” ask them what a cult is. Guarantee you will get a good laugh from their response! So is any religion. They are much less disturbing than catholic yet no one ever says it. Sure it’s a cult but….a less bad big one If OP is in LA and her bf works in film, there’s a weird thing with Scientology there. They seem to specifically target film people (actors in particular, which I suspect join partially for professional networking reasons). I have a friend who did it for a whole, before I knew him, and is out of it now. He was never serious about it, and I think he actually left because it was too expensive. I would almost guarantee you that there are few that are all that serious about it. And if you research scientology with it being a cult in mind, go ahead and research Christianity in the same light.
