I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression for half my life before they clocked that it was actually adhd and autism. Things have been much better and much easier since then! No one mentioned it to me either lmao a lot of kids slip through cracks because they don’t present in the stereotypical way, I was diagnosed at 32. It tends to be misdiagnosed as things like ‘treatment resistant depression’ or anxiety. If nothing is working for you, there’s no harm in looking into other possibilities especially if there’s a chance of finding something that might help you!

I spent most of my life feeling like I was wading through treacle and wondering why I couldnt keep up and just do basic things like everyone else seemed to, you never know! Having crippling anxiety isn’t keeping up unfortunately and neither is losing all your friends because of it. I mean no harm with any of the things I’m saying, just an attempt to potentially help someone that tbh sounds like they were in the exact same boat as I was. Ultimately, you need to be comfortable with yourself first. With self acceptance comes confidence in time. This is a battle that is different for everyone. On the surface it sounds like you probably aren’t a good friend to yourself. Don’t be too hard on yourself but always do your best to improve little by little.
