Volume still very very clear with them inserted for basically all movies Depends on how you define a Blockbuster. Every studio puts out what they hope will be a tentpole each season/year. Universal has Fast and Furious, WB has tons of IP besides DC (Jurassic World, Harry Potter). Paramount has those GI Joe films or A Quiet Place. The difference is a lot of them suck or bomb and lose the studio a ton of money. It’s funny they just get back on there feet and they pull this stunt. They have not offered anything to benefit the customer. The theaters around me don’t offer any discounts. There’s a story about coke once introducing a variable pricing vending machine that would change the price based on the weather. I.e a can of coke would be more expensive when it’s really hot outside and you’re thirsty. Apparently people lost their shit over this and a bunch of vending machines got destroyed before they pulled the plug on that idea.

When they start price gouging extra fees for a-list customers for in demand showings, I’ll ditch my subscription and go back to never seeing a movie at the theater again. $20-22 is fairly standard for most IMAX theaters at this point. Dune cost me $21, and change in December at Regal. I got a 3 pm ticket for the “Super EMAX” for a cool $10 matinee price ($15 normally). Location is a big factor too Dayum, you guys are getting screwed. I don’t think I’ve paid more than 8 euros for a movie in last like 10 years Well space is a premium in Nyc and movie theaters take up a whole bunch of space. It just is what it is as much as it annoys me. This is a person getting cocky thinking the cinema game is still a safe industry. The fact is, it isn’t, when push comes to shove it’s one of the first on the chopping block. Especially as home theatres become more accessible and same-day home release has proven to work well time and time again. Wall Street bets didn’t help this persons ego either
