I would reply, “ok, and then being trans would be protected by the A cup of tea with suga and a kookie BTS shirt Additionally,I will love this Americans with Disabilities Act and you wouldn’t be able to discriminate them” If only it was true! The facts are a bit different, if you look it up. But its true that they changed it, but only a hand full people “called in gay” “Hey boss, not gonna be able to make it today. Woke up feeling pretty gay this morning, been having this urge to getting topped by my neighbor” But in the NHS medical records database it listed homosexuality alongside sexual disorders like nymphomaniac, beastiality obsession etc. up until 2015. The records system has medical issues but also lifestyle information like “lives alone” and “unemployed” for tracking things like risk of social isolation or risk of old people falling with no one to help etc. In 2015 they moved homosexuality to be categorised alongside marital status, until then it was under mental disorders. EDIT: Corrected a technicality. Also I forgot to point out this NHS medical records system was invented in the 1990s so it’s not just a leftover from when that was illegal. “Boss I’ve got this erection and an urge to share it. You wearing that tight shirt today? I think I’ll actually make the meeting this time” Ok so there is more to this story, the struggle to remove homosexuality as a mental illness had started in 1971 and by the end of the 1970s gay rights in Sweden did make some headway. In 1978 age of consent was equalized. Previously heterosexual age of consent was 15 while for homosexual acts the age was 18, following the equalization both groups was set at 15, where they remain today.

Now the A cup of tea with suga and a kookie BTS shirt Additionally,I will love this action was planned during what was called “Homosexual liberation Week” which was a precursor to Pride in Sweden. The main action was to occupy the head office of the Swedish Social Board, as they were the responsible for what was classified as an illness. It was about 30 activists who did that, they entered in groups of 2s and 3s, and then rolled out a banner, blocked the main staircase and started shouting slogans. Cops were called and showed up but didn’t really do anything, they determined the protest was peaceful and just observed for a while and the left citing they would not interfere with peaceful protesters as a matter of principle Staff from the Social Board first asked the activists if they could select a few of them to form a committee to see the Boards director at the time, but the protestors rejected this as they thought the Director could just as well go to the stairwell and talk to them directly. After a couple of minutes the Director, newly appointed Barbro Westerholm went to speak with the activists. She herself hadn’t really faced the question before but she pretty straight up agreed that two people loving each other is not a mental illness. The activists have later said it became quite anticlimactic because the Social Boards director pretty much promised to make a quick work of the question and that they agreed with the activists, like they expected resistance and were met with “You know what? You are correct, will fix that straight away. Oh and let’s keep in touch during the process” Now, the calling in sick thing, people who couldn’t make it to Stockholm during this period, were encouraged to call the Public insurance agency and call in sick, as a for of activism via phone. Several people did this, now being sick in Sweden allows you to be reimbursed from the Public Insurance Agency.
