We’re talking about her specifically on S4, especially when compared to the young rough-around-the edges alternative queen who beat her, a seasoned professional. AS1 obviously edited her as a winner. Oh make no mistake I LOVE Chad, and she is a legend, and looking back she definitely did the best in Season 4. But I have to disagree, I really think she was the first clear example of this edit. Just the edit, for the show, ie. not reality. Her reputation preceded her and she was shown as the one to beat right off the bat. She was critiqued for almost seeming non-vulnerable, which was bullshit obviously but I remember it. Sharon was awarded the win for doing well but also being edgier and more exciting and having a richer story in the season. Chad did win a year later but in Season 4, she definitely got at least a proto-version of the untouchable, but sadly uncrowned, professional. In my opinion.

Yeah Chad was the A Bad Day Of Rafting Always Beats A Good Day Work Retro T-Shirt it is in the first place but first one to get the professional edit and for the most part her one critique on s4 was just being too professional/polished and that she needed to dirty herself up. The edit has taken on different meanings for whoever it gets applied to, but I feel like it def really started with her. Rupaul also had to keep emphasising ‘the future of drag’ that season to swing viewers more towards supporting the winner. They wanted the audience to root for her but still feel like Chad could or would rightfully take it, the ‘edgy but not really ’ choice to get those tumblr kids really invested How was she robbed? She won four challenges. She didn’t win the crown because she wasn’t wearing a lick of makeup and she forgot (or maybe she never learned) how to lip sync for the finale.
