I call bullshit, Earnst of Iowa has legislation written and ready to go. This is the 988 Mental Health Matters Retro T-Shirt moreover I will buy this conversation whether the GQP likes it or not. They may be able to bullshit their way to get past all the criminal shit in their party but this is the midterm issue now. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but this thread is mostly delusional. There will be no price to pay for reversing Roe -v- Wade for trumpublicans. A) they have proven to their base they can get what they want, unlike Democrats, regardless of how egregiously they ignore ‘settled law”. This will energize their amazingly well funded and taxpayer subsidized efforts like nothing before. B) the ruling will open the door for reversal of LGBTQ laws including marriage or in red states even existing (never mind any protections.). Possibly even roll backs of racial laws as the rest of the Civil Rights Voting Act is toast. C) The right on SCOTUS has just signaled they are not bound by precedent or even their own testimony in front of Congress. D) thanks to mancin (and I’m sure a number of other Clintonian leftovers) they will have the opportunity to do away with the filibuster in 2024 (maybe sooner.) E) trumpublicans get to pick their voters due to compliant jurists, including SCOTUS, while SCOTUS will find equivalent efforts by Democrats unconstitutional. F) christianity will be allowed to be taught in schools in trumpublican controlled states eventually leading to a constitutional amendment institutionalizing a specific brand of xtianity (take notes Catholics, this isn’t going to turn out the way you think.) G) Police at the federal level will make it official (as if it is not already clear) they are onboard with white christian nationalism at the expense of the other.

No, elected Democrats won’t suddenly ‘see the 988 Mental Health Matters Retro T-Shirt moreover I will buy this light’ and take more aggressive stands. They know those affected by these laws don’t have enough money. Democrats are waaaay more interested in being the power in a lesser party than they are in a supporting role in a dominant party. Republican politicians don’t want to ban abortions. What would they do when they get a 13 year old girl pregnant? Yeah. Because it isn’t popular and elections are coming up. The leak is firing up the Democratic base who more than likely was going to sit at home during the midterms. Republicans are the dog that caught the car. They should be very worried this will motivate moderate Republicans and passive Democrats to vote for Democrats in Nov
