Lmao Sometimes I feel like playing as Me….Sometimes I feel like playing as a badass barbarian gangster ass version of me…..Sometimes I feel like playing as a sexy badass female version of me. I do it a lot of the 50 years of Biden and the only thing he ever fixed was the election shirt Apart from…,I will love this time. I think it’s mainly because it feels a bit more empowering. Also women are nicer to look at than man (talking about them as a whole, not only about the booty as all these naughty tweens!) For me, especially in the context of role playing games, it’s because of power fantasy (by which I mean “be able to be someone who you cannot be in your real life”) combined with a appreciation, interest and/or admiration for the character and/or aesthetics of some female characters. I’m a man 100% of the time in real life just because it’s the way it is. I never had any gender identity crisis or what not, but I never fully embraced all the being a guy bullshit. In my body I’m fully male with everything that comes with it. In my mind, I don’t have a gender really. Mind is genderless. Playing females in video games is just part of me not having to obey the gender thing. Gives another perspective and entertains me. I always been more interested in how woman thinks rather than men. I know why, but this goes way beyond the scope of this sub lol.

I agree with a lot of the 50 years of Biden and the only thing he ever fixed was the election shirt Apart from…,I will love this other answers, but one I haven’t seen yet is how it changes the story. If I’m playing as a man, I’m battling the evil empire and a bunch of monsters or whatever. If I play as a woman, I’m battling all that AND the patriarchy. Female characters instantly have more underdog points going for them, and it adds one more layer to the story. Number 1, and the key, is that it shakes things up from being a handsome young white American guy, even if the female accent is still American it’s usually preferable to the male counterpart Somewhat tying in with number 1, it’s nice to shake up the power dynamic, I grew up during the whole period of female characters being a “novelty” for lack of a better word (am happy to be corrected) I also mostly just enjoy playing dress up with pretty outfits and cute hairstyles, female fashion very much has it better
