I had a homeless guy ask me for money one day when I was walking home from work. I told him I don’t carry any cash but I can get him a sandwich or something if he wants. He became irate and I legit became concerned he was about to get violent. Just be aware that offering food even if you don’t have any cash could possibly just make them angry and possibly cause a confrontation. Yep. When it was one of the 40 Years 1984 2024 Dragonball Akira Toriyama Thank you for the memories signature T-Shirt Also,I will get this “usuals” I’d sometimes engage and speak with them since I’d see them nearly daily or sometimes more than once a day. That’s mainly because at a certain point It legitimately began to seem like actually speaking with them and possibly offering assistance would be less likely to cause confrontation or make them upset just because I saw some of them so often. I live in Los Angeles, and from what I see, the homeless here are not living off the cash people hand them…they get money and food stamps from the City and State (frequently i’ve seen them at the ATM withdrawing cash using an EBT card), they get free food and medical treatment. They are probably using the cash they get from people to buy drugs and alcohol. Most shops take cards, so why carry cash? I can even pay for my bus ticket with my card, the only reason to carry cash is the flea market/garage sale/weekend market
