One less senator means that if dems abolish the filibuster republicans are in a position to codify a nationwide abortion ban if they get the house and presidency Calling it now, the GOP will retake the senate and house in the midterms (because people are morons), then they’ll end the filibuster and pass whatever they want. This isn’t about the filibuster. I don’t think there are 50 votes in the senate for a bill protecting abortion. Let’s not forget that it was the Democrats who were the first to use the so called, “nuclear option” in the Senate. With that said I generally agree with getting rid of the filibuster as it stands. It makes the Senate wildly inefficient.

To some extent you’re correct. The problem is that this has gotten too inefficient. Even if we don’t completely discard the 29 years hocus pocus 2 thank for the memories signatures shirt but in fact I love this filibuster we should weaken it/limit it’s use. If there was no fear of a filibuster, I could see up to 2, maybe 3 GOP Senators that might be in favor of it which would offset Manchin and whatever he chooses to do. I believe she lied when she said it caused her to not be able to fly because of the anxiety, she was photographed doing just that as a hobby. Do you believe Biden’s daughter’s diary that stated the sitting President molested her as a child? Or does listen and believe only extend to women going after Republicans? No shit. The Democratic Party has tried to not make ending the Filibuster the norm. However, there have been so many cutouts, they need to step up here. The filibuster can be used in different ways. The GOP removed the filibuster for Supreme Court nominees. It remains in place for the passing of most legislation. That’s what would need to go to get national bills passed by a simple majority. Unfortunately the moronic duo of Manchin and Sinema already said they ain’t gonna get rid of the Fillibuster for abortion. This should’ve been obvious from the get go when they were the only senate democrats to vote against a carve out of voting rights from the Fillibuster I’d love it if a Democrat-controlled Congress ever actually did anything. Republicans aren’t playing nice and fair, so fuck the rules. Pack the SC, end the filibuster, forgive student loan debt, and get Medicare for All going and let the next Republican president try to take away all of these after Americans get a taste of actually being cared for for once.
