That all children love to be told they are beautiful, or their hair, or their outfit. My sons love it when I praise their outfits, and so does my daughter. Come to think of it, I never heard my father ever tell me that I looked good. And I can imagine how much of a boost of confidence that would’ve been, as I certainly see it in my children’s eyes and smiles. I had the 21st Century Rox New York London Munch T-Shirt and by the same token and opposite. The only thing my dad would ever compliment me on was my beauty. The few times we connected over my intelligence and studies meant the world to me. Compliment your kids on everything wonderful about them—build them up so high that others have a harder time tearing them down. I learned how to properly cut, dye, bleach, wash and dry long hair. I also learned how to paint nails, apply makeup, and how to wax faces. In fact my wife and now adult daughters won’t let anyone else color or bleach their hair. It’s a great bonding experience and I’ve gotten pretty good at it.

I suggest diving in and learning these skills to any man who complains about how long it takes his SO to get ready. You’ll have a newfound appreciation for how much work women have to put in to look “pretty” according to modern societal standards. Freaking thank you! I once was with a guy who’d tried shaving his legs one summer to see how it felt. Ensured that he would NEVER ask me to shave mine because of how much of a pain he now knows it is. Great guy!
