Yeah, humans have pretty good eyesight compared to many animals, but our other senses like hearing, taste, and touch are also well developed in their own ways. It’s all about how we use them in our daily lives. Before reading these comments, I would have assumed a vast many mammals have better eyesight but that we’re in the 2024 Richmond Fan Vote Winner shirt moreover I love this middle of the range by sheer number of species. But then I realized colour vision probably plays into that, and how many animals are hindered in that regard (tiger stripes as effective camouflage came to mind, as well as relative colourblindness in dogs etc). Humans are so cool. Brain development for higher thinking was definitely the driving force in our species success, but it seems the strength of our senses is special too.

It’s like folks who can’t taste poison. You can taste most poisons, my grandfather spent time with me on that. In case I was ever somewhere and scraping by with unfamiliar plants. In regions I know, I can smell rain, i can tell you the 2024 Richmond Fan Vote Winner shirt moreover I love this elevation by smell, and I have literally picked up the scent of an animal I was tracking. Humans can see shape, it’s a predator trait we have. We also have incredible hand eye coordination. It’s just most humans are like a macaw that can’t fly; they’re under exercised. I feel under exercised in all sorts of areas after having met better trained people than me. There ARE FOLKs WHO CAN TRACK ANIMALS AT NIGHR!!! We conquered most of planet a hundred thousand years ago (if you’re willing to buy into the evidence for the americas that’s puts us there 130k years ago, I’m personally not convinced yet that it’s been longer than 50k years). We are biologically amazing machines. We are not soft and weak; we’re the fastest pursuit predator on the planet. MAYBE the second fastest, there’s a debate on if wolves are faster.
