I had to evacuate, obviously. I stayed with friends in Boulder. But the 2023 The Alliance Cup Shirt Additionally,I will love this next day, we got so much snow I couldn’t get out of Boulder to go back to my place. I was pretty sure from the maps on the news that it was still standing, but I couldn’t find reliable information about whether or not they had shut off gas to my neighborhood. If they had, the heat would have gone off and burst pipes would have been likely. And then there was the question of smoke damage. I spent about 2 days in Boulder not knowing the condition of my home. I’m extremely lucky that our gas stayed on and there was no water damage or smoke damage. The worst of it was we all had to boil water for a while and drain our hot water heaters and stuff. The fires depleted the water supply so fast, and they had to open the water supply up to other sources. But that was the worst of it at my place. I’m beyond grateful for that.

But the 2023 The Alliance Cup Shirt Additionally,I will love this anxiety is real. I really struggled to sleep for the first several months. I just kept thinking of how awful it would have been if it happened at night. The city response was so bad in terms of communication. I was working on a project so I was listening to an audiobook, and I wasn’t checking the internet. I found out about the fire and evac order from my dad, who called me FROM WISCONSIN. No sirens or other attempt to make mass contact with us. The evac order had been in place for a few hours before I heard about it. So that anxiety of “what if it happens when we’re all asleep” was really rough. Driving by it everyday was HARD. Someone close to me moved out of Louisville DAYS before the fire. Their apartment complex burned down. Another person was working at home, had a coworker IM them asking why they were still online and hadn’t evacuated. Person was being a good worker bee and staying off their phone, had no idea what was heading for them. Worker bee went to the window, saw the flames, and ran for their car. Lost everything, but lived thanks to their alert work buddy. That was an insane day for us glued to the TV. Glad you’re safe!
