Being a Destruction based mage first playthrough took me like 100 hours to hit lvl 100 Destruction, it took forever plus your damage doesn’t scale with level so I hard disagree, mage at high levels was pretty underwhelming….nowadays (well like 5 years ago but…) I prefer illusion magic so I can just invisibility/muffle backstab everyone There’s quite a few enemies that are immune or highly resistant to magic though. You’re also a glass cannon if wearing robes.
