Get a job that will pay for you to get a certificate or college or go to trade school then apply. Learn skills like coding. Enroll at your local technical college in a trade you want to enter. Most programs are only two years and they tend to get you on the job before graduation . Look up a union in whatever you want to do or a recognized organization and reach out to them regarding apprenticeships. You must be setting your “blue collar” sites too high. It’s the umbrella Union that deals with welding, pipe fitting, plumbing and even HVAC. I’ve been in for 7 years, did a 5-year apprenticeship and it was the best choice of my life. You won’t find anything that will match the wage and benefits I can’t say for certain because I don’t work in the trades, but from what I’ve been told, you need some sort of training or apprenticeship.
