A stat i remember going around in the 10th Doctor Celebrate Christmas shirt Furthermore, I will do this 2000s/Iraq war time, was that for the cost of 1 Tomahawk cruise missile (launched en masse at the time to obliterate a small regional army from miles away) the US could drill wells amd provide clean water for the entire third world No idea was it accurate or not but if the goal was indeed world peace and liberating people, the US military could achieve much more through soft diplomacy and charity than high tech weapons systems blowing people to bits ever will Nothing was stopping them, and some have done this. Mr. Beast figured out that he can do all this stuff AND monetize it. He could get even richer doing anything because he’s figured out how to promote it. I actually have a lot of respect for him because he’s choosing to do good things that should be very helpful to people. Most people just do stuff because of the tax savings donating can bring. Without that, few would do much of anything to help anyone. I think it’s misleading – lots of wealthy people are doing lots for it however mr beast has his business of YouTube including his philanthropy channel. So his work is much more in the public eye. Example – bill gates makes his money in tech, not public videos so his support is quite and more in the background. I’m sure you could look up what Bill or others have done. Mr beast also came at the right time, taking nothing away from him, he worked his ass off to be the #1 of a newly emerging video platform YouTube.

They are not YouTubers so no one is watching them do it. A lot more happens in real life than appears on the 10th Doctor Celebrate Christmas shirt Furthermore, I will do this internet in easy to consume media. They’re not very useful if not maintained. Between 1/3 and more than 1/2 that some NGOs have built are not functional in rural Africa And it can get incredibly expensive to maintain. One of the water engineers cited by the Guardian considers them a total waste of resources and unsustainable. They do some. Not enough for everyone or probably as much as they should. But that’s just how capitalism works. At least some of them do donate to do something even if it’s not for always great reasons. Mr beast advertises it more is all because it’s how he funds it. Normal rich people don’t need to advertise what they do because they make money from other things.
