Pulling the 101 We’re Too Much shirt Apart from…,I will love this “I’m not racist, I have a black friend” move and threatening to call the police are REALLY not helping your case at all. Well feeling as though you have to find a way to defend yourself against an invisible accusation of racism what other evidence do you have of it. Someone once accused me of racism for a completely illogical reason without knowing anything about me, I just laughed and said you don’t know what you are saying my daughters black, their response was you could hate your own daughter. Because this is literally part of your job, the only correct response is “I’m sorry to bother you ma’am. I’ll leave you alone, goodbye.” Yeah, you’re a little bit racist if you’re getting defensive and comparing yourself to black coworkers in order to prove yourself, rather than simply thinking to yourself internally “you moron, what’s your malfunction, lady?” This is because you’ve been taught culturally. You’re also slightly racist in not understanding why a middle aged black woman, alone by herself, would feel the need to immediately be as offensive and outrageous as possible, when approached by a young white man, an employee in his comfort zone, who is taller and probably heavier than her. In other words, to immediately shut down any possibility of discussion. If you feel compelled to say you are not a racist, you are but just don’t know it. Justifying it by saying you have minority friends is the same thing. I don’t have to say it. I recognize that I practice culturally imbedded racism and while I try every day to be better, I know that our society is set up to BE racist and unless I am actively making the effort to not be racist, I am likely tacitly tolerating it from society and no one can fight it 24/7. All I can do is try my best not to overtly OR culturally be racist to the best of my ability. You sure are acting emotional for someone who’s not racist. If I was called racist and I know deep down inside I’m not. I would say I’m not and move on cause I don’t need to prove that I’m not

A Black person called you a racist and you threatened to call the 101 We’re Too Much shirt Apart from…,I will love this police? Bruh. I don’t know the right answer for this but you don’t handle it by doing that for one. At work, there’s really not much you can do besides apologize even though you did nothing wrong. “I’m sorry I made you feel that way… I’m sorry my actions came off that way…. I’m sorry if I crossed any boundaries.” It’d be different if you could just cuss her out lol. I worked in a bar/restaurant and had a lady yell that at me, she was obviously inebriated, and I served her a glass of water, Rather than the vodka soda she ordered. laugh at it since i know who i am . ive been called sexist also while teaching my welding class. i tell people at the start of the class im going to act like you know nothing and teach in simple terms so their is no confusion. been told i was dumbing things down because of thier race or because they are a women.
